MONTREAL – Boston College incoming freshman defenseman Charlie Leddy was selected in the fourth round with the 126th overall pick of the 2022 NHL Draft by the New Jersey Devils on Friday.
Leddy joins fifth overall pick Cutter Gauthier (Philadelphia) as the two Eagles taken in this year's draft. He is the first BC player to be selected by the Devils since Steve Santini and Miles Wood both went to New Jersey in the 2013 NHL Draft.
Boston College pushed its streak to 27 consecutive years having at least one player drafted, which is tied for the longest all-time with Michigan and Minnesota.
